Volunteers Sought
Mosaic Chicago encourages volunteers to help lead and coordinate events and trips. We are an all volunteer organization which helps keep costs low. Our philosophy is one that develops this kind of pro-active effort to be a member-led organization.
We are looking for a few brave souls to lead some upcoming events. Winter is not that far away, and here is a partial list (events may sometimes be dependant upon weather/snow conditions):
- local forest preserve hike
- mountain biking
- skokie lagoons canoeing
- stargazing
- ice skating (indoor or outdoor)
- x-country skiing (heck, we might even be able to do it next week!)
- downhill skiing (local hill such as wilmot or alpine valley)
- tobogganing (jensen slides or swallow cliff)
- birdwatching
voutdoor pancake breakfast at a local forest preserve or park
- bowling
- Shabbat dinner
- Hanukka shindig-think of something!
- low key music venue such as the Old Town School Due to weather conditions,
we suggest that you choose earlier dates in Dec or early Jan, which allows
for postponement to a later date if necessary.
Basic guidelines to follow as event leaders:
You have the freedom to plan the event as you see fit, however there are
a few basic guidelines:
1. You'll be responsible for making tour arrangements and composing the
trip announcement (EVENT DESCRIPTION, DATE, TIME, MEETING PLACE, DIRECTIONS,
CONTACT INFO etc. plz use caps for the headings)
2 When you select a preferred date, email Dan
Levin : with your announcement ASAP so we can put the it up on the
website/newsletter ASAP.
3. We suggest bringing some snacks for the group. Also, since it will
most likely be cold (outdoor event), we have a 5 gallon insulated jug
we can fill up with hot chocolate or whatever....
4. Keep it simple!!! Less is more.
